Apr 27, 2018David Michael "Mike" Mixon, 73, of Bishopville, SC will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. John Bolin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.Mr. Mixon entered into rest surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Born in Darlington Co., SC, he was a son of the late Emory Herbert and Emma Jane Johnson Mixon. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church. Mike was the owner and operator of Mixon Logging and had previously served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was very community oriented and was well loved and respected by all that knew him. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed dearly, Mike was known for his fun loving personality and quick wit.Surviving are his wife, Sandra Johnson Mixon of Bishopville, SC; daughters, Wendy (Warner) Logan of Bishopville, SC, Dana Mixon of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Emma Logan and Martha Jane Logan of Bishopville, SC; brother, Aubrey (Ginger) Mixon of McBee, SC.
